Sincere apologies for the delay in getting the Friday wrap-up out to you in a timely fashion today.
All three of us have small children and rather selfishly we’ve been busy enjoying the holiday atmosphere – and we hope you’re doing the same!
This week saw weight loss wins for Dave W and Tara, while Dave F brought shame upon us all with his .2lb gain. Tsk!
Catch up on all the latest by visiting the Wednesday Weigh In
The week was kicked off by Mr Wright tapping in to the Dark Side of The Force. Just don’t make him angry, you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry. He’s like the Hulk, only less green and more hungry.
On Tuesday Tara waged war against Hollywood starlets and gave then a swift smack upside the head for being too thin. The matter brought forth a mass debate and I’m afraid it will have to be settled with an inflatable paddling pool and 200 gallons of brightly colored jello.
Dave F talked about his precarious position on Thursday and admitted to eating ice-cream during a visit to the Pantomime. Oh no he didn’t. Oh yes he did!
He also gave fair warning that the semi nude photos will be removed from the site in preparation for his return to gainful employment. You still have time to download them for future blackmail purposes.

Blog To Fit Weekly Wrapup: Dec. 12 2008

It’s Friday, and you know what that means – it’s time for our weekly wrap-up.
This week was a success for all of our BlogToFitters with weight loss from each of the trio at the Wednesday Weigh-In.
However, Tara’s giving up on chocolate caused her to take a shot at David Wright in this post where he invited readers to tell him what to eat. That post also inspired some debate over whether healthy food is more expensive than crap food.
Meanwhile, though he slept in a few times, David Fowler continued abusing his body with morning runs and abusing our eyes by posting even more nearly-nude photos of himself. Fowler also talked about the dangers of micromanaging your diet.

Remember, whether you are lurking or this is your first time here, there’s still time to join along at any point. This isn’t like an episode of Lost or something where if you miss even one, you’re doomed to playing catchup forever. Join in at ANY time! This is an open ended process as each of us has our own goals.
Plus, you don’t even need to have a blog if you’re here just for the support.
Lurk if you want, but why not join in?
Tell us your story in the comments section and we will be right there with you on your journey.
Thanks to everyone who has been participating and helping to grow this blog.

Keeping with our longstanding (two week) tradition of kicking off the weekend with funny media, we bring you a video today.
This is a sketch from the British comedy show Little Britain and features Fat Fighters leader Marjorie Dawes – a woman you DO NOT want to meet on your weight loss journey.
I do warn you though, some may find the language offensive . . .
Video: How NOT to motivate yourself to lose weight!
The week in review:
David Fowler was the star of the show this week as he proved he is insane by adopting a new habit of both waking up at 4 a.m. to run, and then blogging about it! To the delight of his growing fan club (and to the shame of his family), he posted yet another semi-nude photo of himself while talking about public accountability. We’re pretty sure that Fowler is simply an exhibitionist using this whole “weight loss thing” as an excuse to show off his array of fancy boxers!
Tara Cain talked about turning to the dark side and is increasing her fitness routine to catch up with Fowler in insanity.
David Wright finally got around to revealing his own fitness plans.
During our third Wednesday Weigh-In, the Davids lost one pound each while Tara’s weight remained unchanged from last week. Tara then raised the bar by saying she would pose in her boxers if she didn’t lose weight next week. Oh wait, no she didn’t, I made that part up. We’ve got to do something to keep our male readers from leaving at the site of half naked Dave!
Joining the Wednesday Weigh-In this week:
Mike Goad saw the benefit of a cyber hug from all of us after being ill and has been heading in the right direction once again. Keep with it Mike and you too will be able to wear a pair of Dave Fowler. Whether you want to is a whole other matter.
Linz at The Pondeing Sheep joined the fun and has been using a treadmill and a fancy chart to track her progress. This girl is serious! We’re right behind you Linz.
Avlor is struggling with willpower (anyone with any advice/tips for her?) and has been surrounded by a mountain of food, but to be fair to her she has exercised her butt off this week, so keep up the good work Avlor, it will come.
notSupermum: Ah now, this lady confessed to being a bad girl and challenged us to put her in the naughty corner which was very very tempting, but we here at Blog To Fit are all for positive punishment (!) so Tara and notSupermum have a challenge on – for one week they are going to totally stick to their guns and try not to let each other down. Tara thought notSupermum would think about her everytime she reached for something she shouldn’t, but wouldn’t you know it, the supermum wants to picture Dave Fowler in his boxer shorts. Go figure.
That Girl 39 came up with a brilliant excuse for her lack of exercise this week, which we are pinching here at Blog To Fit: “Diddly squats are worse than normal squats by the way – they really make your thighs hurt!” Just genius.
A Dad’s Life has joined our very own Dave Fowler and POSTED A NAKED TORSO PICTURE OF HIMSELF! Wait wait wait ladies (and gents) before you go rushing over to have a look, remember we have our own pin-up right here so don’t you go switching your allegiances.
Deconstructing Jen shamlessly blamed parties and her son for a minor gain, but after a big loss last week, we’ve decided to let her off. She’s another Wii Fitter, so good luck for next week Jen.
Newcomer Sarah wants to learn to love exercise, which is a great target to have. She’s also keen to find a way of living a life which includes regularly moving so she can enjoy the food she loves. Right behind you there Sarah.
Mom/Mum hit the fast food (tsk) but rallied by playing in the snow with the children. Plus she has another great tip for when you weigh yourself. Do a Dave’s horses wee AND shave your legs. It’s all got to add up right?
Turf Dad joined in the fun too, creating himself a plan which includes cutting out the junk, cutting down on fizzy drinks and moving more – with the added bonus of spending more time with his son. A great plan Turf Dad, go for it.
DC Urban Dad went all out this week, working out for 7 days. He lost 2lbs of ‘blubber’ though, so it’s paying off.
Patricia enjoyed Thanksgiving and wine tasting, but broke even thanks to walking the streets of San Fransisco.
And sitting in the wings, giving some fabulous support and equally fabulous comments (”the pit of calorific evil”) is Urban Panther. We thank you for all your wonderful words.
Remember, whether you are lurking or this is your first time here, there’s still time to join along at any point. This isn’t like an episode of Lost or something where if you miss even one, you’re doomed to playing catchup forever. Join in at ANY time! Blog to Fit Friday Wrap-Up. Nov 28, 2008

Week two is history at BlogToFit. How did all the Americans do with Thanksgiving? Were you able to resist all the yummy food or did you indulge? Even if you’re gripping a bottle of Pepto Bismol tight today, don’t sweat it. Or actually, DO sweat it. Just increase your activity over the next few days to offset the indulgences!
A news report said today that a typical Thanksgiving Day meal is about 1,900 calories and takes 18 miles to walk the weight off.
The highlights this week:
- On Monday, David Wright talked about how difficult change is. Also, Tara posed the age old question, what weighs more, Jay Leno’s head or you?
- On Tuesday, Tara dissed skinny people and laid out her fitness plan.
- On Wednesday, we all weighed in and most of us were a pound or two lighter this week than last week! Congrats!
- On Thursday, Dave Fowler talked about losing fat – the sub-optimal way! Then he scared small children everywhere by posing in nothing but his skivvies and posting the photo on our site.
Joining the fun for Wednesday Weigh-In this week:
Avlor is a loser (!) who uses a Wii Fit as part of her fitness regime which seems like far too much fun to be fair but after reading of her experiences what how many people now inform Santa that their kids (cough cough) might quite like to have one . . .
notSupermum has obviously been charmed by Dave F and his shameless attempt at becoming the Blog To Fit hottie by posted provocative photos of himself. Anyway, she has also promised to post pictures of her quite fabulous weight loss progress next week – although I’m told there will be clothes involved.
That Girl 39 suddenly thinks she’s Irene Cara or something as she’s not jogging along the beach with Flashdance in her head. Whatever gets you there, ThatGirl, whatever gets you there!
Mike Goad has been unwell so is in need of some Blog To Fit love, so we’re sending it across post haste along with a big batch of cyber hugs.
Deconstructing Jen take a deep breath – this week Jen lost 4.8 lbs. You are such a loser Jen! Good for you! She’s also taken on the drinking as much water as is humanly possible thing, and claims success too.
A Dad’s Life another ‘water’ convert and a blogger who has made a commitment to get out running, cut backon the vino and “I will limit myself to a small slice of pie per day at dinner AND then only eat half of it” – way to go that man!
DC Urban Dad is also a loser but if you need another reason to go visit how about the fact that he’s posted just about the worst photoshopped pic of himself. That is SO not his head on that body. Is it?
Remember, whether you are lurking or this is your first time here, there’s still time to join along at any point. This isn’t like an episode of Lost or something where if you miss even one, you’re doomed to playing catchup forever. Join in at ANY time! This is an open ended process as each of us has our own goals. Thanks to everyone who has been participating and helping to grow this blog.
Question of the week:
While we’re all bloggers here at BlogToFit, this group project is new for us. We’ve got some great things in store for you but before we get too far ahead of ourselves in planning, we’d like to ask you what you would like to see as this site grows? Feel free to let us know how we’re doing and where we can improve.
From all of us at BlogToFit, have a healthy weekend and we’ll see you again on Monday!

Blog To Fit Friday Wrap-up Nov. 20, 2008
by admin on November 21, 2008
in weekly wrap-up
This wraps up the first week here at BlogToFit. Thanks to everyone who has turned out to help kick this thing off. We had a lot of great comments which ranged from informative to heartfelt to downright goofy (which was probably unavoidable given the people behind BlogToFit).
Our first order of business is to give a big…
HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY to our own Tara!
A look back on the week that was:
- On Monday, Blog To Fit went live with its first posts which drew great response. David Wright revealed his goal to lose 100 pounds in one year and talked about the “tomorrow” that so many of us use to put off doing what we need to do today.
- On Tuesday, Tara Cain discussed Lycra, turning 40 and how sugar fattens her through osmosis. She also introduced her fitness goals which include losing 30 pounds. This coming Tuesday, Tara will reveal just how she intends to get fit.
- On Wednesday, we had our first Wednesday Weigh-In! Woo-hoo!
- On Thursday, David Fowler revealed his fitness goals which include losing 27 pounds and yearned for seeing that hidden six pack he keeps under the fluff. He also threatened to post a photo of himself in a mankini. Readership plummeted and our RSS subscribers are now in negative numbers.

We’d like to extend huge heaping thank yous to everyone who participated in Wednesday Weigh-In and posted on their own blogs! Hopefully, this will help build our community and inspire others. Below are the bloggers which participated in week one. If you haven’t already, drop by and check out the fitness stories of these bloggers. And give them a big dose of BlogToFit support. If we forgot anyone, let us know in the comments and we’ll add you. If you didn’t post this week, no sweat, you can join us next week.

We’d like to close out our weekly wrap-ups with a question for you. This week’s question: How long have you been overweight and what has presented you from losing weight (or keeping it off) before now?
Have a great weekend everyone! Stick to your plans and we’ll see you on Monday!
