Dave Fowler’s Daily Update – Number 2
NOTE: The main post of the day is Tara Cain talking about shoes, fat feet, clothes, and something about weightloss

Don’t worry the title isn’t related to the subject today. It’s just that I’m going to run out title ideas before I run out of energy.

As it happens, my energy levels are quite high considering that that I’ve managed to wake at 4am two days in a row – and I wonder if my increased energy is a reflection of the new habits I’m trying to build?
I haven’t had my stomach full to bursting for a while now and I’ve noticed that as a direct result I don’t seem to be feeling quite so lethargic throughout the day.
Yesterday I ran for the first time in months and today my thighs are a little sore, but not enough to give me any difficulty moving. There have been times in the past where I could barely walk after my first run, so this is progress.
Today I’ll be doing some body weight exercises around mid-morning to try to convince my body that it needs to hang on to what muscle I still have, while I get busy trying to burn the fat.
I’m not going to go crazy with it today. I can’t afford to do myself an injury what with having small children to lift and carry, along with all the other duties of a stay at home parent.
I’m aiming for 30 Squats, 30 Push/Press Ups and 30 Dips..
Today I need to exercise better control over my calorie intake. Yesterday I found myself hungry for too long and ended up eating a little more than I wanted to for my main meals. Being hungry for about 20 minutes before eating is ideal for me but yesterday I found myself hungry around 30 minutes before lunch and 50 minutes before dinner.
I didn’t pig out but I ate more than I needed to. Over the last few days I’ve probably been eating closer to a maintenance diet but I’m not going to worry too much about that now, I’ll just keep making some small adjustments.

Way to go, Dave! I’m totally impressed that you went running yesterday in THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, and in the rain, no less. Amazing.
On a side note, I’ve gotten kinda used to those semi-naked photos of you on this blog, so you better keep that up too…

LMAO. It really WAS the middle of the night. I wondered why there was no one else around.
Thing is, I’ve got to do it again tomorrow morning. Eeek!
Hehehe. Those pictures seem to delight a few people round here, but for the life of me I can’t think why. I must be crazy posting those up.
Anyway, there’ll be another photo on Wednesday. I don’t think the improvement will be too noticable initially but in four weeks I think they’ll be quite obvious.
Thanks Adrenalynn

I’ll let you know if they hurt me. I’ll find out in about 10 minutes.

Dave, squats are just brilliant for a tight , pert bottom (so my friend the fitness instructor tells me).

A tight pert bottom eh? Who couldnt use oe of those?
And don’t worry I won’t be posting up any pictures of my bottom, even when it’s tight and pert.

You’re sure the 4am wake-up isn’t anything to do with alcohol intake the night before? That’d be about the time the sugar started to metabolise.

Honest! I haven;t touched the stuff in weeks! Promise.
No it’s more to do with my alarm and a deep rooted sense that I want to be love handle free.

That comment of mine just now, the one about your four a.m. wake-up being caused by alcohol consumption – tell me how it’s turned into something about Tara’s pert bottom?

Hey! I thought we were taking about my pert bottom??
Yeah it weird but a quick refresh does the trick. The comment merge, not my buttocks.

My dietician said to eat a whole small apple 30 minutes before each meal and particularly before I go to the office party on Friday night….1/2 of a big apple.
The fiber moves slowly through and it satisfies the hunger feeling and reduces food intake at the meal.
I made it to weight lifting this morning – lots of squats and then 60 minutes swimming I am not back to a mile in an hour but did accomplish 28 out of 36 laps…that was reassuring.
I find your daily check in encourages me to check in also…public accountability
Thank you

Fortunately I like apples so I find myself reaching for them if I’m too hungry. I’m struggling to find the balance again and I think it’ll take me a while longer. Next time I’m hungry at forty minutes out I’ll try the apple thing.
I’m impressed that you can swim so far. I can’t!
I’m glad you feel encouraged. I’m going to continue with them for the rest of December and then I reconsider. The public scrutiny is really helping.
