  1. Made it to the gym every day except Sunday — and I needed the break!

We saw our daughter and son-in-law in North Little Rock last week. We hadn’t seen them in a couple of months. Last summer they moved out of an apartment into a very nice little rental house in a nice older — and hilly– area of town. They’ve been taking a lot of walks and have been eating sensibly. Both of them have slimmed down a lot, which has been part of what has inspired my efforts.

Mel noticed that I had slimmed down a bit — though she said it to her mom and not to me. I know our girls have been concerned about my weight and I should have done more about it a long time ago. Like most people, though, my attempts usually met with minimal success.

Now, though, I just need to figure out how to stay motivated.

In that department, this weekly sharing has been a very BIG help.

Once more — Thanks, Tara, David and David for putting this up and keeping it going!

  2. @Everyone – Good job NOT gaining over Easter!

It’s the OMG report for me. Gained 6.6 lbs in the last 3 weeks. (Most of it over vacation as I weighed myself before going.) But I’m back on track and am determined to get those pounds back off. Details in the link in the Link Luv.

  3. Great job on the two pounds Dave! I’m with you Tara, Easter meant I ate a lot of crap and am feeling the results. I’m doing one of those “starting Monday” rants while I shake my fist at the sky. I am serious though, starting next Monday I am going to be both more mindful of what I eat and more diligent about getting in my daily exercise. I have excuses, sure, but they are all pretty thin. At least thinner than I am these days.

  4. I gained two pounds this week, but my body fat keeps dropping. That’s a GOOD sign! Means I’m gaining lean body mass.

  5. As per the title of my Wednesday Weigh-in post, I was a total slug this week. No running! No push ups! I am blaming it on horribly cold , so NOT Spring weather.

  6. Congrats, David, on your loss of 2 lbs.

I continue my turtle-like progression in losing weight. Dropped 1 pound, and my clothes are starting to feel a bit looser, which is nice.

I did snitch a couple of small pieces of Easter chocolate from my son’s basket. Had to take it from his because my 10-year-old daughter is on to me. She actually wrote an inventory list of every single chocolate/candy she received and warned me that she’d be checking her basket for any missing sweets each day when she came home from school. Sheesh! Guess the concept of sharing goes out the window when it comes to chocolate.

I stepped up my workouts a bit more this week. I think I am approaching a level of obsession in that regard. On 4 days I worked out for 1 hour, and on 3 of the days I worked out for 2 hours (1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening). See? I earned that Easter chocolate, right?!?

I don’t know how long I can keep that workout routine going. I have to admit I have sore muscles in places I didn’t even know I had muscles.

    Starting weight – 132
Lost this week – 1 lb.
    Current weight – 128
Loss so far – 4 lbs.
Goal weight – 120 (but 125 is more realistic)

That is TOTALLY hilarious that she took inventory of her candy. :)
