  1. Tara and Dave, I know y’all can do it.

    My stats:
    Started November 1, 2008 at 285.6 lbs
Last week = 266.4 lbs. (268.4 the week before)
    This week = 265.4 lbs.
Difference = -1 lbs.; -20.2 lbs since starting
Initial goal: 210 lbs.; 55.4 lbs. to go!

Made it to the gym every day except Sunday.

I did struggle a tiny bit though. (See my weigh-in at Exit78 post for more)

  2. I have lost 7 of the 18 pounds I gained with the torn muscle and the new medications, which I stopped taking as it was making me feel worse and worse…

I am back walking everyday..and will try swimming again next week. My blood pressure is back in control off the meds.
I have had 2.5 days of pain freedom…finally…
I know you guys can do this….back to the routine…we need you…
Thanks for posting Mike…nice to find you here!

  3. I’ve gained a few pounds on vacation while visiting family – even though we walked our butts off hiking around in Seattle. (I don’t have my normal scale so I won’t know how much until I get back.) Doing my best to NOT eat just because I’m surrounded by food. I never realized how much my every day routine of not being near the kitchen really helped me not eat all day not eat all day long. Anxious to get back to normal. Gum has been a serious help today.

Avlor – Surrounded by food can be very challenging. We’re going to be vacationing away from the scale in the near future, too. It will be a challenge, but I hope that I’ll be able to come back without succumbing to the tendency to overeat and not exercise. The good thing is that we’ll be traveling in our little motorhome, so we’ll be “home” while we’re gone with little temptations other than what we normally have.

  4. Enjoyed your April Fool’s Day fun, David and Tara. I think the bigger struggle regarding weight gain will be the upcoming Easter holiday. I am already feeling blue about not being able to indulge in the chocolate festivities. I know you’re thinking “well, just have a little.” But that’s like saying to an alcoholic, “just have one drink.” Ain’t gonna happen. Best if I totally abstain.

I continue to avoid the after-lunch chocolate splurge and lost 1 pound in the past week (well, actually two weeks; didn’t weigh in last week).

I’ve stepped up my workouts a bit. This week I tried some new things like lifting weights while lying on an inclined platform and doing all my cardio balancing on a Bosu (a half orb thingy, very weird). Graceful I will never be, but hopefully I did burn some calories and work my abs.

I’m a bit disappointed that I’m not losing weight more rapidly. I felt like giving up the chocolate was such a huge sacrifice that I would be rewarded with instant skinnyness. Guess it doesn’t work that way. Drat!

    Starting weight – 132
Lost this week – 1 lb.
    Current weight – 129
Goal weight – 120 (but 125 is more realistic)
