Tara, I am completely with you here. And I hope and pray that the boobies will shrink back to their former size and shape, once I stopped breastfeeding. I know, I am asking A LOT here.

David, washing down ice cream sandwiches with diet soda is just wrong on so many levels, I don’t know where to start. Shame on you! Diet soda should be forbidden to sell, I think it’s evil – it sends your body all the wrong messages and messes you up completely.

As for me – have I mentioned that I LOVE breastfeeding? The pounds keep melting off, despite various siblings crashing our quiet home and insisting on BBQs and ice cream. And yes, I think it’s only fair that after 9 (or 10, as in my case) months of being pregnant and labour and all that, that I am actually having my cake.

  2. We’re all about breasts over here today!
And you tell him MM. That’s shocking behaviour – ice cream sandwiches, what the hell are they anyway?

  3. Wow I forgot to come by yesterday, I am just so busy getting ready for the trip and paying the August bills in advance. Though I did not loose another whole pound I did lose 8/10ths of a pound this week. I gave up my gym membership and bought a home scale – against my better ideas, but saving some money is good these days.

Thank you Tara for you good comments about the training shoes on my post – I can truly feel that the back of my legs and the backside are firming up and I got into my slacks I wanted to wear on the walking tour – Hip Hurrah! my clothing is fitting much better. The first area I lose from is my neck and #2 my chest…

Dave – diet pop and ice cream will raise your blood pressure….I had to cut those out of my life a while ago…I guess I agree, I think diet soda should be illegal

Still reading some exciting books about making change and food and lifestyles and that is keeping me encouraged and spirits up.
I got tickets to Wicked in London….and found a dress that will pack in a back pack…YES! it is getting real..

You cannot beat it when you find ‘that’ pair of shoes.
I bought myself a pair of Birkenstock sandals last year and have pretty much lived in them come rain or shine, jeans or skirts.
Just been out today and bought another pair in the brightest green you’ve ever seen! lovely

  4. While no change in weight is not what we’re trying for here, it’s still much, much better than gaining weight.

I was good this week about food — not so good about exercise. Didn’t make it to the gym at all, though I did do more outside labor in the yard this week. I haven’t actually posted numbers for four weeks, so I’ll include that this time.

The good news is that there is no change in my weight over the four weeks, considering that I haven’t had my regular exercise and have not been fanatical about watching what I eat.

    Started November 1, 2008 at 285.6 lbs
    4 weeks ago = 266 lbs.
    This week = 266 lbs.
    Difference = 0 lbs.

Initial goal: 210 lbs.; 56 lbs. to go!

Started back to work on Wednesday and made it to the gym Thursday morning so that’s one time already for next week.

  5. Tara,

You need to come to my gym. You will be treated like a goddess. Why? Because your boobs are real! At my gym, all the gals have big boobs, but they’ve paid dearly for them. Either that or they are giving them out with membership, although evidently not on the day I joined. Drat!

Anyway, the point is (no pun intended), consider yourself fortunate in that department, and just think how sexy you’ll look when you’re a skinny minny with an awesome chest. It’s every girl’s dream (and every guy’s).

As for me, I guess I will keep doing those chest press exercises with 10 lb. dumb bells in hopes of becoming more Tara-like. I’m still working out 7 days a week, but also eating enough sugar-filled treats to sabotage my success. How dumb is that!

I have successfully kicked the chocolate habit. Yay me! Been a couple months now that I’ve stayed away from it. If you own stock in Cadbury or Hershey, no doubt you’ve noticed the dip. Giving up the brown stuff was a big deal for me, and I do feel a sense of accomplishment about that. Hard to break a habit cultivated over a lifetime and reinforced daily.

My weight has stayed at 128-129 lbs. I know that to get it down to where I want it, closer to 120, the next step is for me to give up processed sugar, as in ALL cookies, ice cream, etc. Soon, soon. Need to get mentally prepared for that. Just not quite ready to make that lifestyle change…yet.

    Hi Susan,

Be careful not to work away your chest – the plumpness comes from the fat in the tissue, muscling up will only shrink your boobs, I am afraid. So time to re-introduce the chocolate ;-)
